Join Marcon and Canadian Construction Women for an exclusive behind-the-scenes site tour of Amica Kerrisdale, a six-storey, 208-unit senior living community under construction in Vancouver’s Oakridge neighbourhood, a build that blends the complexity of a hospital with the hospitality of a boutique hotel. The project comprises 62 Assisted Living, 68 Memory Care, 67 Independent Living, and 11 Premium Independent Living rental homes. This is a rare opportunity to see senior living construction up close: the unique accessibility standards, the long-lead coordination, the finish tolerances, and the problem-solving that separates this building type from conventional residential. Whether you're early in your career or a seasoned professional, there's something here worth seeing.
Attendees will walk the full building from parkade level to rooftop, exploring completed and near-complete spaces:
• Memory care suites with code-specific guard heights and finish tolerances
• Premium independent living mock-up suites
• Commercial kitchen at mechanical and electrical rough-in
• Indoor P1 amenities: salon, theatre, fitness centre, and pool
• Green roof assembly with irrigation and low-voltage controls
• Complex mechanical systems: air source heat pumps, fan coils, and make-up air units
• Main high voltage electrical room and standby generator
